I’ve used secret my whole life, because it works.. but I’m thinking about trying something more natural. A few years ago I tried Tom’s and it gave me a bad rash/chemical burn.
I wear Native deodorant. I've tried other brands but Native is the only one that doesn't leave an oily residue on my shirts. It doesn't prevent me from sweating which is negative for living in Arizona, but it's the only deodorant that I get continuous coverage for the body odor. I love all the different scents to choose from especially their most recent choices and it's always free shipping from their website. Last year I ordered from them in the summer and it melted (Arizona heat). They replaced it with no problems. Great customer service.
We buy Lafes’s deodorant stick Active Citrus & Beramot for our daughter, we have tried a lot for her and this is the one she really likes. I personally have not even tried to quit using secret. But I don’t use it daily so for some reason I feel like it’s not as bad. Haha.
+ 1 for Native. I use it and it got it for my tween kids too. It works really well - agreed, you still do sweat, but you're stink free! Yay! They just came out with zero plastic packaging as well if that is important to you. Loads of really pleasant, not perfume-y scents which I like.
I absolutely love Little Seed Farm deodorant - the grapefruit lemon scent to be specific. It's all natural, aluminum & baking soda free, and comes in a little glass jar. It take a little getting used to of putting on almost a deodorant cream rather than a stick but its super easy and the deodorant works great! They also provide zero waste shipping. :)
I went all natural a few years ago and it was a JOURNEY. I'm sure all bodies are different, but I've found that I have to constantly change my natural deodorant brand or my body gets used to it and I'll start to stink and or sweat. I love, LOVE Kopari and always keep that in my rotation. I've found that misting my pits with an alcohol based toner (or Thayers Witch Hazel) before I put on deodorant can help keep stink/wet at bay on days I need a little extra protection. Also, be ready for 2 weeks of being a stinky mess when you first make the jump to natural. Hang in there, it will get better. Good luck! koparibeauty.com/products/c...
I’ve tried quite a few different natural aluminum – free deodorants because I have extremely sensitive skin and recently discovered Soul Spring serenity probiotic deodorant. It is enhanced with hemp CBD to control odor causing bacteria without toxic chemicals. It also has tea tree and ultra absorbent rice powder. The scent is marvelous with calming botanicals of lavender, sandalwood, honeysuckle, vanilla and rose. I am sold on this one!
I've tried them all, and Native does not give me a rash, and it works. I liked Agent Nateur at first but eventually gave a rash and stopped working. Native Vanilla Coconut seems to be the most popular scent, plus they offer a no plastic container option. Love that!
I agree with the comment that making the switch to natural is a journey - I am still on the journey to find the right one! I started with Native and it worked great and had lovely scents, however it made my armpits break out horribly (extremely painful!). This occurred with the sensitive version of Native as well. I tried Schmitt's and it left residue on my clothes and did not work great. I'm currently using Kopari, (which was mentioned above) and still flip over to Tom's sometimes.
