New Stove

I'm looking for a new stove. Unfortunately, we don't have a gas line in the kitchen so it will have to be an electric. Which electric stove do you like? Anyone have experience with the double oven stoves? How well do they work? I'd love to hear everyone's experiences. Thanks!

Lowe’s will come out and measure and let you know what will fit in your space if you are looking for a double oven or an in wall oven with microwave above. Plus they have the best extended warranty around.

We ordered a Bosch in wall oven from Ferguson’s Bath, Kitchen and Lighting Gallery about two weeks ago and it should be here within the next week to ten days. I can’t speak to the quality of the oven yet, but we have the Bosch microwave and we are very happy with it. Ferguson’s will send someone out about a week before the install to be sure the fit and electrical are all what they need to be so there are no surprises on installation day. Ferguson’s was easy to work with and the showroom consultant answered all our questions and we never felt rushed. I’ll circle back once we have had it for a bit. I can’t wait!! Our current oven will turn off mid use and may, or may not, turn back on.

I have a Frigidaire Gallery double oven electric range, and I love it! It's probably 5-6 years old, so I don't remember the model. We love the rapid boil feature and the different sizes on the cook top. The double oven is so useful. Both ovens are large, preheat quickly, and cook evenly.

I ran a gas line to my kitchen but I chose to use an induction cooktop instead of gas. Induction uses electricity like your existing stove but the electricity runs through electromagnets to make the pans heat up. The pans heat much faster than normal electric cooktops or even gas. Since the cooktop uses magnets under the hood to make the pans heat up, the glass surface of the cooktop itself actually doesn't get as hot, reducing chance of injury. The only catch with induction cooktops is that they require pans that are made of iron or steel. If you have magnets on your fridge and they won't stick to your pots, you will need new pots. It's worth it though to get the extra power. Here's a good video to check out youtube.com/watch?v=h45dzeu... another, more in depth youtube.com/watch?v=bWv1RhZ...

Thank you everyone for the suggestions. Rob Franco I will look into the induction cooktop. I had never thought of that option but I am curious about them now.
