Awesome catfish and dirty rice

Healthy eating is wonderful, but when you've had all of the field greens & quinoa you can stand The Evangeline Cafe is the spot to hit for basket of deep fried Cajun goodness! The stuffed pistolette is THE appetizer to have. The gold band pasta is amazing if you're in the mood for spicy pasta, but the catfish & shrimp basket are the thing totally worth blowing your diet! It's also a tiny live music venue with seating inside & out. But be warned.. it is tiny so the music will bounce off your head tickle your bones!

This is definitely our favorite cajan food spot in Austin. We have been several times and they are alway so wonderful about making sure that my husband who has a shellfish allergy does not have any cross contamination in the kitchen. Everything we have ever had has been so delicious.
