Easy veggies to grow

So I did a thing....went to Lowe's to get my herbs and then decided this is the year that I am going to grow veggies lol! Only problem is that I'm not the best gardener. What are your favorite veggies to grow? I picked up tomatoes and cucumber but want to add more!!!

We have a huge garden and some of the easiest and most fun things that we grow are watermelon, bell peppers, tomatoes, onions, and lettuce!

Kassidy Fletcher how many servings does a lettuce plant usually grow? I live for salads and I saw this planter box that already had different types of lettuce in it!

We just get the seeds and plant a whole row of it. My Mamaw prefers the "salad mix" or just green leaf lettuce. Even after you harvest the lettuce the first time, it keeps growing! We make salads at least 3 times a week at my house and we always have plenty.

Lettuce is usually the easiest, but it's a cool season crop and might be harder in the heat of the summer. Cherry tomatoes, I believe are easier, plus if you get the indeterminate varieties you'll have a longer harvest. Potatoes in buckets is super easy, just plant and then dump the buckets to harvest. Chives, zucchini, and other squash are easy but take a lot of room, you'll have to build a trellis or support. If you have kids, I always suggest making a pizza garden, (basil, tomatoes, peppers, chives, oregano). The kids love it. You Tube has so many videos on whatever it is you grow.

My mom and I grow cucumbers, tomatoes, and mint and lots of different peppers in our yard. We even have an apple tree, it’s still young sadly. It’s always fun to get to eat them later and healthier.
