My husband's birthday is coming up and I'd like to surprise him with an awesome cake. Need some suggestions other than my local grocery store (no offense to Safeway, just need an upgrade :))
Helen Bernhardt is a solid choice. I really love their French silk icing on red velvet cake. It's like a step up on the whipped icing from Freddy's (which I also love!).
Papa Haydn's is also good...we often get cakes from there. But I do think I prefer Helen Bernhardt's, except when dealing with princess cakes.
