Fitting for basketball shoes?

My teen has been playing street bball a ton lately and is wearing sneakers that look cool, but are not providing the support he needs. Looking for recommendations on shoe stores that will take some time to help find the right fit - and likely insoles - for him.

I always used to get blisters on the bottoms of my feet when playing basketball more than an hour or two. At first I assumed it was the shoes, but at some point someone recommended fitted insoles, which immediately solved the issue for me. Not sure what shoe support issues he's having, but Superfeet insoles worked really well for me. I'd be skeptical that any shoe store would have more than anecdotal advice (like mine) to share, so if insoles don't work, I'd try a pediatrist.

I have had great experiences at Road Runner stores. They have a shoe fitting set up that has proved really helpful for me. They take impressions of your feet, watch you walk and run to evaluate your gait, and provide recommendations accordingly. Basketball is a bit different than running but I still think i'td be a great place to start.
