Local: Best places to sell and donate books?

My move client is downsizing her book collection and looking to make a few bucks and/or donate to a good cause.

Who are your favorite book buyers that offer the best compensation?
What about rare and vintage book buyers?
What programs do you know of that collect books for donating to communities, lower income, etc?

Thank you so much!

Sno-Isle Library system takes book donations to raise funds for community libraries. They have a great used book sale on weekends in Coupeville and probably at other locations as well. I usually come home with several additions to my collection there as well!

Abebooks.com for rare books and also ebay and amazon for rare books. Amazon for inexpensive books -- you'll see some people selling "cheap" books for 1 cent, but raising the shipping price to make money.

I'd call Jessica at Mercer Street Books. She will come to your house and review all the books and purchase what she can resell. And I think she'll also donate ones that aren't considered valuable.
