2 Best Austin Record Stores

  • 600 N Lamar Blvd, Austin • Downtown
Cindy Hawkins - This is a very cool record shop which carries oldies as well as the latest releases in music. I like to go through their old vinyls dollar bin and have even bought some vintage 45 rpm records there!
Liz Stella - We're longtime supporters of this record store and have enjoyed live music performances (pre-covid and hopefully again soon) many times. A huge boon for local artists, they really help highlight them so you can discover them! They're also a SXSW showcase spot where you can enjoy seeing some new bands. A great selection of gifts too for all music/film lovers.
Dagan Martinez-Vargas - old school record place.....enough said.
  • 4304 Clawson Rd, Austin • South Lamar
Liz Stella - We love that this record store is still going! You can find some fantastic, eclectic albums here, old and new artists. They relocated from downtown to South Austin, so make a trip and get your hands on some great music.
Travis Ritter - The Live Music Capital of the World has no shortage of amazing record shops, but End of an Ear has always been my go-to. They tend to focus more on the eccentric stuff than the common rock staples, but as with most shops that do it right, they have something for everyone, no matter what media format you’re after. One of the rarest records in my collection came from End of an Ear (this could be because Austin also hosts one of the biggest annual record conventions in the country). If you’re a electronic/synth music fan like I am, they have one of the better synth/wave sections I’ve ever come across.
