Urban Animal- Capitol Hill In an effort to shorten wait times, while practicing social distancing, and protecting our clients and staff, we are adjusting our walk-in process. We are attempting to improve the client experience during these challenging times while our operations continue to be severely altered by the Covid-19 health crisis. We have identified the need to manage the flow of clients to our practices while continuing to help as many pet owners as possible. We understand your time is valuable and sincerely believe these changes will reduce wait times and allow for a more manageable workload for our teams. OUR NEW PROCESS WILL BE AS FOLLOWS: We ask that you call your preferred practice on the day you are in need of care. During the call we will give you a “queue time” which will be the best time of day for your visit based on current wait times. We ask that you arrive at the practice at the queue time suggested. Clients who call and are provided with a queue time will be prioritized over those who do not. While we will make every effort to see every patient in need of care, we believe using “queue times” will significantly reduce wait times, keep our clients safe and make your visit to Urban Animal much easier. If you are experiencing any respiratory symptoms yourself (cough, fever, sore throat, runny nose), please consider having someone else bring your pet in on your behalf. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time!

COVID-19 presents a serious threat to vulnerable populations and we cannot in good conscience continue to risk operating during this period of high exposure and rampant spreading in our region. We recognize the impact this may have on independent artists and businesses; Pratt is experiencing this in real time as well. We have gathered a list of resources for artists and parents and will update you as more information about our local arts community comes together. Dog Gone Seattle here has been a surge in families interested in both fostering and adopting a rescue dog. This certainly can’t hurt morale! Dogs have been scientifically shown to increase oxytocin levels in humans, and we all could use a little more “love hormone” right about now! Moreover, there is no shortage of dogs in need of families, and so we are working diligently to place homeless dogs with families in Seattle. Nevertheless, we have a moral duty to take extra precautions to ensure the health and safety of our fosters and volunteers, potential adopters, as well as society at large. As such, we are implementing the following changes. Public Events: We are cancelling public adoption events, social meetups and fundraisers until further notice. We will continue to monitor and observe recommendations of the King County and Washington State Department of Health as well as the CDC. We will plan to resume events as soon as it is determined safe to do so. Private Meet and Greets: Given the urgency of our work in the rescue and rehoming of a large number of homeless dogs, we will be moving forward with our mission while implementing changes to safeguard the humans connected with our organization. We will continue to schedule private meet and greets between fosters and potential adopters with the following requests: If you are sick, immune-compromised, or at high risk for the virus, you should not participate in a private meet and greet. All parties should thoroughly wash hands prior to and after the meet and greet and avoid touching your face. Please be mindful of social distancing recommendations: Maintain a distance of 4-6′ from others if possible and refrain from shaking hands. When possible, meet and greets should occur in an open air environment. How can you help at this time? Consider fostering or adopting with Dog Gone Seattle Please be patient with us and understand that we are working diligently to respond to all inquiries expediently. Donate food, crates, or other fostering supplies that are currently in high d

You will be asked those same questions again when you are in the office and your temperature will be taken. -We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed. -You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect. -Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you are offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment and may mean you need to wait in your car until your appointment. We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends. Sincerely, Drs. Johnston and Johnston and the WSSC Team

Bartlett Tree Experts With the continued spread of COVID-19, we at Bartlett Tree Experts want to reassure you that we are well prepared to serve our clients and are committed to safely caring for your trees and shrubs during these concerning times. As members of our communities, we know just how important it is to protect landscapes from tree care safety concerns and invasive pests. Since our business plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of landscapes, we have been working closely with governments and within our industry to ensure we can perform our essential services. As an approved essential service, we have, and will continue to, protect trees and shrubs and help ensure safe landscapes at homes and businesses. This includes critical tree services and helping to prevent the spread of invasive plant insects and disease. While performing this work, we are more conscious than ever of the role safety plays in our interactions with each other and with our clients. From climbing trees to using saws and heavy equipment, safety has always been at the very core of the work we do. Now, that also means maintaining safe, social distancing and stringent sanitation practices. Since our work is performed outside, we have been able to seamlessly transition to new protocols. From the scheduling of tree work to its completion, your entire part of the process can be completed via phone or email. We realize this is a change and will miss our personal interactions. However, we also know that while the way we communicate may be different, the way we care about our clients and their landscapes is still very much the same. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call your local office and remember that we are here if you need us. Thank you and stay well.

We will ask them to leave, we do not care if they are your ride or your mom, don’t bring them inside. 4) masks are always required, but we need to impress upon wearing them over your nose and mouth - we will also not be providing them to you if you don’t have one, you will be asked to leave. 5) if you, a roommate, a close coworker, feels sick or test positive for covid you need to reschedule your appointment. We will not be upset, we will find time, no tattoo is that important to risk my health and that of my studio mates. Be respectful. . Covid is also not a “get out of jail free card”. If you cancel your appointment using the above rules as an excuse and I then see you partying on the gram, or see you get a tattoo from another artist in the city (we always find out) I will not rebook with you - so please don’t lie, be cool, we want to take this seriously.

Growing Washington Due in large part to the pandemic facing Seattle and the surrounding areas, we have been getting an enormous number of requests from former CSA members to reboot our Food Box and start delivering food to homes and neighborhoods in King County once again. At the same time, we've been notified that all of our neighborhood farmers markets in King County have been shut down for at least a month, perhaps longer. Many farmers will go out of business without a way to sell their food and sustain vital cash-flow, so we feel compelled to act. We are in the initial stages of working with community partners like farmers markets and other farms to start bringing food into King County, and to do so quickly. Our approach will likely be three-fold: 1) Have locally produced food available for pick-up in designated areas at designated times 2) Delivery to neighborhood pick-up spots (e.g. front porches) of site hosts. 3) Home delivery Our goal will be to move as much locally produced food as possible, and to feed as many people as possible. To begin, the system will be pretty simple: We'll likely have a couple options: 1) A small produce box 2) A large produce box 3) A box of mixed produce and other items (potentially meat, value-added, dairy, etc.) 4) Home delivery will likely cost more Deliveries will be focused on King County and Whatcom County right now, we may expand to all of our previous delivery area/counties if demand is great enough.

AdventureTripr For Adventurers: 1. Are all the trips cancelled? To ensure the safety of our team and our community, we paused all trips scheduled for March and April (including our maiden trip!). Instead of cancelling trips outright, we are postponing what we can for later in the year. May-August: We’re keeping a close eye on the situation to see when it makes sense to start offering trips in the summer. We've created some wonderful local trips, right here where we're based in the PNW, that will scratch that adventure itch while staying safe. (See 5.) September onward: We plan to run all fall and winter trips. We’ve got some notes below on how we decide when it’s safe to go on trips again, but please feel free to reach out if you have any questions about specific trips. You can email us at here, or use the chat feature to leave us a question. A human will get back to you as soon as humanly possible! 2. How do you decide when it’s safe to go on trips again? We follow three steps to determine whether we are able to offer trips safely and responsibly.
