I now have this attached to my "bug-out" bag, one I put together after seeing people in the California fires have to leave their homes very quickly and then manage days with only what they could grab. I plan to cut off some smaller lengths to put in other emergency kits we have, like the one with the bicycle and the ones in the cars.
Paracord is a lightweight nylon rope that was originally used in the suspension lines of US parachutes during World War II. Today, it has hundreds of uses, and is always great to have on hand when camping. It can be used to hang a bear bag, secure a tent flap, make a splint, and much more. You can pick up 50 ft for under ten dollars.
