This is a great way to demonstrate how nature works to a child at home. The pack comes with a foldable mesh container to hold the emerging butterflies until released. You simply order the caterpillars which arrived within a couple of days and we watched them fatten up and turn into a chrysalis. We got 5! Now we wait for the butterflies to emerge. Fun and affordable.

Julie Joyce I have seen this at my kid’s school during life cycle of a butterfly unit. Everyone is so excited when they butterflies start to emerge.

Molly Pearcy Both of my kiddos preschool classes did this project. It really is a wonderful demonstration of how nature works. It allows them to observe the life cycle from start to finish. The day they released the butterflies was a huge event for their preschool classes! So much fun!

Claudella Constanza We have had so much fun with this! You can get the milkweed plant with the caterpillar on it from your local nursery. We then place it inside the mesh and just wait! In about two weeks you see your beautiful monarchs being born. It's a family event :) The miracle of life!
