Carol Mullins I'm looking to get rid of stuff. Have you ever sold anything on this app?

Melissa Gallagher Carol Mullins I have. However, much like my shopping experience, I've found that brand names do better, and expect that whatever you list it for, you may get offers of 30% off and then Poshmark takes their fees. Basically, people are on there for the deals. If you have a brand new pair of Lululemon leggings that cost you $90 but you didn't return them on time or you snipped the tags off, don't expect you'll get $75. You might only get $50, but if you approach it like it's better than nothing, you'll probably be pleased with the experience. My rec for listing is to do the research to see what prices things are going for, use good quality photos (include stock photos with models and actual photos of your product), write good descriptions and measurements if you have them. And plan on haggling!

I've recently become a bit obsessed with Poshmark. Poshmark is an app (also have web-based functionality) for buying & selling clothes, often secondhand but sometimes new too. I try to shop sustainably, which can be expensive, but secondhand clothing is a great way to keep things out of the landfill and save money. Plus, you're putting money into the hands of individuals rather than big corporations, which is a bonus. The app is easy to use, and I've had success with reselling some of my old clothes. I've gotten some really great deals too, which is slightly addictive.
Elexa Martinez Right? I have a lot of friends that use this app. I enjoy the thrifting in person hunt so have not tried it out, I feel like I would be way too addicted! What has been your favorite find so far?

Emily Midgley Elexa Martinez One reason I love it is because my daughter had a favorite dress that was a few years old and she outgrew it. I was able to find the same dress in her current size AND sell off her old dress to offset the cost. Another score of mine, there was this designer bag that I was coveting, but could not afford. It was a specific seasonal pattern. On a whim I searched and found it at a much cheaper second-hand price. I also scored a dress for my cousin's wedding NWT (new with tags) for a fraction on the retail cost. You should totally try it out! Its so easy to use and if you don't like the price listed, you can make an offer!

Melissa Gallagher Elexa Martinez I would say that like Emily Midgley I have really loved it for finding specific things- like a brand of boot that I found thrifting that was so comfortable that I wanted it in another color/style. I've also gotten some great Lululemon pieces for a fraction of the cost, and a nice formal dress for a black tie event. I don't normally shop at stores like Lululemon (expensive, not sustainably produced), so it's sort of my cheat to allow myself those pieces when they're secondhand. And sometimes they're NWT from people who just bought the wrong size. I LOVE thrifting too, but I hopped back on the app to find bathing suits that were in good condition or NWT because I haven't found anything good thrifting. And I've found some great stuff and become a little addicted. Definitely not like thrifting prices, but you can get really specific about what you want when thrifting isn't turning up gold.
