Zara Recommends

1984 (Signet Classics)
Really appreciate this Orwellian read. It's perhaps more relevant in today's society than ever before. Highly recommend.
Bite Changemaker Supercharged Micellar Foundation
I've started wearing this foundation because it's a perfect match for my skin tone, cruelty-free, vegan, and uses relatively clean ingredients including antioxidants.
Bobbi Brown Intensifying Long-Wear Mascara
I received a sample of the Bobbi Brown 'Intensifying Long-Wear Mascara' and I've chosen to use it since. It's not clumpy, stays on without smudging, and looks natural.
Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700
Got myself a pair of these after trying my partner's. Amazing sound and noise cancelling for working from home and being out and about.
Bose Portable Smart Speaker
Smart Speaker
We use this to listen to news updates since it pairs with Google Assistant. Its portability as a general speaker has proved handy while working from home.
Bose SoundSport Wireless Headphones
I got these as a gift and they've made runs so much more bearable. They stay in your ears, produce great sound, and don't completely block outside noise (like traffic) if you don't want them to. Through the Bose Music app I've also been able to program them so that I can control volume and track with a finger swipe/click .
Bowflex C6 Bike
Exercise Bike
The Bowflex C6 comes with dumbbells and a mount for a screen. I mounted my iPad mini and downloaded the Peloton app. Works like a charm. You can also connect a HR monitor with bluetooth.
Dw Home Falling Leaves Candle
Inexpensive and literally smells like you're walking through crunchy leaves in Autumn/Fall.
Dyson V8 Cordless Vacuum
Vacuum Cleaner
Cordless vacuum that comes with multiple heads for cleaning around tight corners. Takes a while to fully charge but it does save time and energy, especially if you haven't got a robot vacuum.
Everyone for Everybody Lotion
I like this lotion for my hands, body, and face. We have the lavender + aloe one which is calming. It's made with plant extracts and pure essential oils. It's also cruelty free, gluten free, and non-gmo in a recyclable pump bottle!
Giant Hybrid Bike
I had a Giant hybrid bike for ~ 5 years and never had any issues with it. It was perfect for city commutes and gravel bike paths.
Knots of Fun Tug Toy
Dog Toy
We purchased this dog toy from Wholefoods for our friend’s new pupper. He was obsessed with it and it allowed us to bond nicely! It felt really well made with soft fabric, but tightly woven, so it should survive little sharp teef.
Laroche Posay Anthelios Clear Skin Sunscreen
I like LaRoche Sunscreen. It went over an unfortunate existing burn without pain, wasn't oily, and stayed on while I swam.
Lose It! App
This app help me keep track of my food, water, and exercise intake in a healthy and sustainable way. I can scan in barcodes when I'm on the go (rather than input data manually) and the app syncs with my Apple watch to track workouts.
Lululemon Energy Bra
Sports Bra
They can be expensive but, in terms of high impact, lululemon bras are amazing... their ones without wire have removable cups too
Mem Tea
Their Masala Chai is award-winning, spicy, and warming.
Mizuno Wave Inspire 16 WAVEKNIT™
Running Shoes
I purchased a pair of the Mizuno Wave Inspires last year and they've been great. I used to get shin splints with my old Nikes and they haven't returned.
Moleskine Weekly Notebook
I really like this notebook to plan my week and keep track of tasks. It's a typical planner with a bit more flexibility. I'm trying to go electronic but keep coming back to paper, and Moleskine is a more environmentally friendly option with acid free pages.
Moroccanoil Treatment Original
Hair Care
I have wavy hair but me and my curly-haired relatives like Moroccan Oil. It de-frizzes and moisturizes. It also smells good the entire day. Plus, a little goes a long way- I've been using a travel size bottle from Australia since the start of 2020.
Moshi Overture Case
Phone Case
I did a lot of research into the best wallet/phone case combo for my new iPhone 12 Pro Max. Pros: you can comfortably fit in 3 cards, not too bulky, magnetic detachable case, and feels smooth enough without being leather. Cons: adds a bit of weight, and doesn't come with a clasp to secure the case (although when it's in your pocket it stays shut). Overall, a great purchase.
NutriBullet Juicer
This is a simple juicer I've used for fruit and vegetables alike. It's also easy to clean with dishwashable parts.
Ottolenghi Flavor
Brings your vegetable dishes to the next level. It's also got content on processing, pairing, and producing vegetables.
Patagonia Women's Down With It Parka
Women's Coats & Jackets
Coming from Australia this proved invaluable for Boston weather. It's super warm and sustainable (recycled polyester), and it's not overly puffy or overly fitted so I can layer up.
Exercise Bike
The Peloton app is helping to keep me in shape during the Boston Winter. Inspiring instructors and fun themed spin classes.
Solomon Hiking Shoes
Hiking Shoes
For warmer weather hikes I enjoyed my Salomons for 11 years. They're completely worn out now so I'll need to get new ones for spring/summer. They've been on hikes across Australia, the middle east, and the US. I've got narrow feet and high arches but I'm sure they've got some wide hiking shoes too.
Swell Water Bottle
Water Bottle
S'well bottles come in different sizes and keep liquids hot or cold for hours. They don’t sweat and they’re eco-friendly (no BPA/BPS).
Thermomix TM5
Sous Vide
We love our "Thermie" so much that we brought it all the way with us from Australia. It's useful for so many thing like weighing ingredients, cooking soup, chopping/mincing/steaming meat and vegetables, making yoghurt, grinding coffee, and kneading dough. There's a tonne of self-guided and adaptable recipes it comes with too. It's costly but when you think about all the kitchen appliances it replaces, it's worth it!
Trader Joe's Bamba Peanut Snacks
Tastes just like the original Bamba.
Trader Joe's Everything But the Bagel Seasoning Blend
A friend introduced me to this and it's pretty good on just about anything... especially avocado toast.
Trader Joe's Everything But the Elote Seasoning Blend
Not as versatile as the Everything But the Bagel Seasoning Blend imo, but still tasty. Spices up tacos, corn, tofu, meat, and salads.
Trader Joe's Multi-Purpose Cleaner
Cleaning Supplies
Smells great (I've got the cedarwood & sage natural scent) and actually cleans. A plant-derived and biodegradable product for safer and more environmentally friendly cleaning.
Ugg Women's Adirondack 3 Boots
Got these boots as a present at the start of January and I've pretty much ditched my old snow shoes. They're waterproof, have a wooly inside, and are high enough to stop the snow from getting into them on hikes. Highly recommend.
Unstable Unicorns
Best game for quarantine. You can play with two to eight players. It's strategic and a LOT of competitive fun.
Warby Parker Eyeglasses
I love these glasses because their frames are narrow enough on my face to not make me look like a bug! They don’t fall off my nose either. They have blue light options which is what I need.
Weber Q 1200
We've got the smaller Q1200 Gas Grill with a portable stand, and we use it often. Easy to clean and store.

Special Occasions

B8ta Boston
I love that I get to check out and even test drive the latest technological and innovative products. Lots more shopping to do here.
Brattle Book Shop
Book Store
So much variety in this pre-loved book shop. Good prices and so much fun to explore the indoor and outdoor sections steeped in history (founded 1825).
Brewer's Fork
Nice craft beer and pizza- try the Mushroom Man or the O.G.
Amazing pasta with fresh local ingredients - try the Rigatoni.
A bar/grill restaurant with pretty good beers and a cool atmosphere. The outdoor seating is ideal. Be wary of the wait-time to check in due to popularity.
Darwin's Ltd
Many vegetarian sandwich options. Tempeh Tantrum is epic.
Great staples for everyday and work. Nice shoes for all occasions too.
Fat Baby
This place a winner if you feel like Asian food. Their vegetarian Lo Mein is very tasty, as are their Maki options.
Flour Bakery & Cafe
Great pastry and coffee with friendly staff and their own cook book!
Live Alive Organic Cafe
A healthy hangout for vegetarians. The smoothie bowls are wonderfully indulgent. I also enjoy the warm Rainbow Harvest bowl with root vegetables and kale.
Maison Villatte
Falmouth, MA
Amazing French bakery that's worth the drive. They also do soups and sandwiches. The park across the street has a nice picnic area.
Mike's Pastry
Italian pasty joint with delicious cannoli. Arguably the best in Boston.
Sensational Mediterranean food with a romantic atmosphere. Staff strictly follow COVID protocols (KN95s, sterilizing etc).
Raven Used Books
Book Store
Spent ages trawling through the great books here; recently published and old history. Very warm and old world atmosphere.
Rosenfeld Bagel Co
A variety of delicious bagels and challah bread. Only challenge is putting in an order in before they sell out!
Stapleton Floral
Local florist with a fresh, gorgeous, and fairly large selection.
Stitch and Tickle
You can find scarves, vintage clothes, bags, jewellery and other goodies here that make beautiful gifts. Check out SoWa Market nearby in the Summer for fresh produce.
Fresh salad options for lunch- the Shroomami is a good vegetarian option.
Tatte Bakery & Cafe
This is an awesome breakfast/lunch destination. Their shakshuka is warm and filling. They also have halva brownies.
Trident Booksellers & Cafe
Book Store
Pick up a book from their wide collection and enjoy it there with brunch. Perfect place for a bookworm.
Wachusett Mountain
Recreational Activities
Princeton, MA
A range of runs close to Boston that aren’t too crowded (at least from 7-11am). Ample parking. Just be careful driving there in the snow.
