Snowy Day Activities

It's freezing in Chicago- anyone had good recommendations for activities to do with kids indoors? Crafts/ art/ experiments we can get- even better if its a pre-made kit that I can order :)

One thing my girls (3&5) love are the sensory kits from Young + Wild and Friedman! We have 4 of them and the different themes are adorable plus the fact that it comes in a box that contains everything for an easy clean up and storage! They hold up very well and really have provided hours of play! We have silicone mats that I ordered from Amazon too!

I just got a Kid’s Croquet set from Target. We don’t have snow here but we do have rainy days. Instead of using the wire wickets, we place chairs and other toys. You can build your own at-home mini golf. My daughter loves it!

Color me Mine in Burr Ridge has "at home" paint sets - they supply the brushes, paint & pottery piece -- you do have to pickup & then drop back off, but if yours love to paint!

My 4yo & 2yo also love their sensory rice bin! Everything can be bought through Target drive-up & dumped together! So easy & cheap. Buy a bin like below, a large bag of rice (enough to fit in a gallon sized bag), & an assortment of things: we have ladles, measuring cups/spoons, ice tray, bowls, etc. I have them sit on a towel & it is hours of fun! Best part, once they are done, I close the lid & back in the cabinet for next time. No cleanup!

Following BusyToddler on social media has been helpful in finding crafts especially in these never ending winter days — I do the more easily created ones!
