Kristen Recommends

Anna and Sarah - Dried Fancy Peaches
Random gift from my mother in law. I thought it a strange gift at first, but holy cow. These are AH-MAZING. Naturally sweet. Great texture. Perfect, healthy afternoon pick-me-up snack.
Their purses and bags are amazing. Designed by flight attendants to be everything a good purse should be. Light weight, just the right number of pockets, easy access phone pouch that snaps, stylish. I could go on and on.
Charming Pet K9 Tuff Dog Toys
Dog Toy
My small dog LOVES to tug. K9 Tuff Guard toys are the best bang for your buck. They are soft and snuggly and he and I can both get a good grip on it. They last forever! We have been through easily 10 other toys since we bought his K9 Tuff Guard sheep. It's still his fave and zero tears - stuffing is still 100% intact.
The Game
Bought The Game Card Game (Pandasaurus) on a whim. As a family we tend towards intense deck building or other 2 hour + gameplay type board games, but I wanted something that traveled easily and could be played in 30 minutes. We are now totally obsessed with The Game! My best description is that it's a cooperative version of Skip-Bo. It mixes strategy with memory and is great for all ages. You can even play by yourself against the deck. Go get it! You'll be happy you did.
Wonder Walker Dog Harness
Pet Harness
I would 100% go with a Wonder Walker. It is comfy for the dog and helps them resist pulling. I have a 15# chihuahua mix, but we've been using the WW since he was half this size. My friend with a larger dog also uses the Wonder Walker. They come in all sizes. Extra super cool bonus - MADE IN SEATTLE. You can't go wrong!

Special Occasions

Chef Goddess Kristi Brown is making kick booty food in the Central District. It's take out only for now, but there are a few tables outside and heat lamps to keep you cozy. I can't wait for post pandemic days so I can belly up to the bar and enjoy a meal in the beautiful, homey interior. For now I will remain grateful her amazing grub and her son Damon's craft cocktails are available for take out. Go get some!
Elliott Bay Book Company
Book Store
This is a great bookstore with knowledgeable staff and an amazing selection. I use the Staff Recommends a lot for my own buys as well as help with gifts. Lots of local authors represented. I love that their move to Capitol Hill from Pioneer Square (back in 2010?! wow!) has nestled this gem amidst Cal Anderson park, restaurants and shops. We make an outing of it with book browsing (and buying), playing outdoors and rewarding ourselves with a treat afterwards.
Golden Wheat Bakery
This cafe's name does not do it justice. Yes - it is an amazing bakery with fresh baked bread - gluten free options too! - pastries, treats and coffee. What a GLORIOUS SURPRISE to find house made pupusas and tamales as well. Delish, hidden local gem.
Synchronicity Events
Event Planning
The entire team at Synchronicity Events is incredible to work with. Solid energy with a focus on philanthropy and non profits, women owned and all around bad-ass. Alex takes the time to listen to your event details and comes up with solutions that wow. They are organized planners who work hard and make the event come to life.
