I'm never satisfied with the plain alt. milks either, they aren't creamy enough. If that's your issue with them, you need to look for those labeled as "Creamer." There are quite a few good ones out there, but I've stopped the ones in plastic containers, so the selection is more limited. Silk makes a good one that my Safeway used to carry, and sadly doesn't any more - it's called Half & Half and it's half oat milk, half coconut milk. If you can get it, it's worth trying!
If it's sweetness you are trying to achieve to cut the bitterness of coffee, I have a great rec for you! One of my vendors in my shop sells syrups that can be used as simple syrups in coffees, teas, lemonades, cocktails you name it. They are a healthier alternative and no high fructose corn syrup or additives. They are called Daddy's Homemade (sold out of Evergreen, CO). Check us out, too! - The Moxi Poppy
I use a vanilla almond milk with no sugar added and it gives a great flavor without being too overwhelming. (also WAY less sugar) Blue Diamond has a great option
Great question since I have struggled with that for a long time (don't do dairy) and like my morning coffee a little sweeter than just adding almond milk - but I don't do sugar either :) I use Natural Bliss Almost Milk Creamer with Vanilla - about 30 calories per serving
Vanilla almond milk, unsweetened and unfiltered honey. Use one of those cool hand blender things and the almond milk froths up so nice. No need for a coffee place anymore.
