Composting in my Backyard

It's Scout science week here at home and we have been talking about starting our own composting. There's so many options from DIY to buying an actual bin for outside (some are tumbling types, others are large cubes). If you have a composter, what do you have and what do you like about it and what do you not like about it. Also, my yard is on the smaller side, so I need something compact.

After much study, I bought a tumbling composter (IM4000 Dual Chamber Tumbling Composter). I started composting about two years ago, and I have no complains about this one. I like that it has two chambers, so when one is full you can let it compost and begin filling the second one. Also it is very compact. I would recommend you get a small bin for your kitchen as well. When it’s full you take it to the big one outside. I have the EPICA Stainless Steel Compost Bin 1.3 Gallon. It has a charcoal filter that helps with smells. I empty it once per day, give it rinse to prevent smells and keep it looking nice, and cover the bottom with a paper towel so it’s easier for you to empty the contents.

I can’t recommend one because they’re all so expensive but beware that the plastic ones can’t stand the weight if you plan to compost yard scraps

I’m hoping to find a decent deal on Amazon prime day.
