Deck repair in Seattle

The deck on our rental house in Seattle collapsed underneath our tenants as they were toasting in the new year. Luckily nobody was hurt, but now we need to replace the deck. Anyone know a good deck contractor? It will be hard for us to supervise the work from Austin, so we really want to find someone we can trust.

Hi Nathan, Sorry to hear that. We used a small provider, Sam Hyde, who our my sister in law used and recommended. He does decks, fencing and pavers. We found him detailed oriented, honest, on time and budget. He did a fence and pavers for us, deck we did not do this time but he does those as well. He is local and info is below, not sure if he has an updated website yet:

We rebuilt our deck in west seattle in 2015 - it was a big project - 900 sq ft, 10 ft off the ground. We used avalonnw.com they were great, easy communicators and were very clear about what/why any extra work needed to be done. Kevin Monohan and the whole crew were awesome to work with.

Amy & Jeri's roofing company does decks in the offseason. I'm sure they'd do an excellent job. State Roofing.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Our job was too small for Avalon, but we got a few other quotes and ended up going with Sam Hyde from Dogwood Designs. He was very thorough, helped us through the whole design process, and did a great job on the project.

Wonderful! So glad my recommendation was helpful. We liked Sam a lot and he did a great job for us but great to know you liked him also.
