Dog Dandruff Remedies

My poor pooch has allergies and super sensitive skin. She gets some wicked dandruff when she's anxious or after a bath even when using mild shampoo. I hate changing up her food as it changes her stool, but I am looking for food and other dandruff remedies to keep her shiny and itchy free.

Definitely ask your vet before doing anything recommended. But I’d do Benadryl for allergies (it’s what was recommended by my dogs vet) and fish oils for her dry skin. This will help her skin and coat. Bathing on when really needed for a while.

avocado and olive oil is good for human scalp, I wonder if it would help for dogs?

Use a type of oil to help. You put it in their food and normally they’ll eat it like usual. Back in the 90’s, we used vegetable oil but I think coconut oil would be better. Coconut oil, you need to give them small accounts and then work up for a good amount that works for you.

My sweet old dog improved enormousy after I started giving her 1/2 tab of claritin, per Vet recommendation. And I used CBD cream on his hot spots which seemed to soothe him. He's fully recovered now but I can so relate.

Have you tried oatmeal baths? That used to help my sister's pitt who had severe dermatitis.

PhytoVet is the best shampoo for skin irritations and it smells like strawberries. My vet recommended this to me when my former dog had a severe red patch. I saw results immediately. This stuff is gold.
