Dog food

My dog has to transition from puppy dog food to regular dog food. He has never been crazy about his current food (Blue Buffalo Puppy). I want to transition him to a food that has similar nutrition benefits that he will enjoy without having to add wet food. Any recommendations?

Hi Amanda, My dogs previous and current (20 years) have all done well on the Costco Nature's Domain, Salmon and Sweet Potato. The salmon sweet potato is healthy and helps with a beautiful coat.

Thank you, Carol! I will absolutely look into that one. I bet he would love salmon and sweet potato!

We save sweet potato skins, when we bake sweet potatoes, it's our dogs favorite snack too, and of course pieces of salmon. So the combo at Costco made so much sense.

What a great idea! We make salmon and sweet potatoes at least once a week for dinner too, I’ll start to introduce it to my dog. Thank you!

Amanda, I also buy bulk chicken broth at Costco and wet food with it. About 2 TBS per cup of dry.

That’s another great idea! We have tried mixing water and he seems to like that but I bet chicken broth is way better!

We feed our dogs Acana. My German Shepherd has bad food allergies and it's one of the few brands that carries an all fish dog food that he can tolerate.

Thank you, Elissa! I’ll check that one out too!

I love Royal Canin. It's the only food I'll feed my dogs.

I recommend Fromm dog food. They are a bit more expensive than Blue Buffalo but well worth it.

Thank you, Mike! Our local pet store recommended that brand as well- I’ll see if my pup enjoys it!

Ziwi is what we are feeding our puppy. The pet store said it is an excellent all over dog food, or topper or even high value treats. Our pup is crazy over it!!
