Experiences with Soda Stream or similar fizzy water maker?

My household drinks a ton of La Croix and I'm considering buying a fizzy water maker so we can just make our own. Does anyone have experience with one? Pros or cons?

I’ve had a soda stream for years and love it. You can exchange canisters at bed, bath and beyond and use their 20% off coupon.

I have a soda stream too! I definitely prefer the soda streams that have glass bottles vs plastic bottles. Soda stream also has an exchange program where you can send in your used co2 bottles for refilled ones. I love it. We were huge La Croix drinkers too and this is much more sustainable! I love it.

We have a Soda Stream, and it gets good use. Definitely do the glass bottles. And while the exchange of CO2 canisters sounds easy enough, be warned that you may end up with 3 years' worth of canisters in your trunk just waiting for the off chance you remember, and then a pandemic hits and you barely leave the house and 3 years becomes 4 years, and there's 20 of those things rattling around in the back... you get the idea.

We have a SodaStream! Our OG one had plastic bottles but we’ve since upgraded (a few times) and now use the glass bottles as well as the plastic. Definitely get it, I’m a huge La Croix fan and still love this.

We love our Soda Stream. We use it all the time, but we don’t use the syrups they sell very often. We usually just mix it with a little juice for flavor! It is delicious! For a special treat, we even make Italian soda style drinks with the raspberry or strawberry stripes you can get in the coffee aisle of the grocery store. So easy, tasty, and fancy feeling!
