Hey Vanessa. I spent a huge amount of time on this recently. After talking to several design build companies, we were ultimately stymied by the building code. There are permitting rules about "coverage" that made it impossible for us to add more structures to our lot. We ended up doing something cheap and cheerful instead - a well reviewed canopy and a propane fire pit. It's not the prettiest but we love it and total price was <$500. Plus we didn't violate code because we didn't erect a permanent structure.

In terms of contractors, the one who impressed me the most was Frank's Painting. He swung by my house the same day I called and had great insight into the project. He would've been able to build something nice for a reasonable price within a few weeks. I'd give Frank a call before trying larger firms, which are all booked up for months.
