What are you natural remedies for curing a cold/congested sinuses??? I have two little people I have to keep alive so I need to not take anything that will knock me out and allow my children to create their own version of Animal House.
The very best thing you can do is to boil water and keep the house humidified a bit. It will help keep the mucous running instead of slowing and down and getting worse. I take zinc and vitamin C w/ Zicam. Soup that is broth based, like chicken noodle or even herbal tea with lemon and ginger. Stay hydrated.
Apple cider vinegar. I had my kids doing mini shots of it since they were kids as soon as they would feel a sore throat coming on or anything 😂 They would gag a little and be very dramatic but now all in high school and college and all 3 swear by it and I’ll catch them taking swigs on their own-ha! We’ve never had flu and rarely get colds. We could all just have great immune systems though 🤷🏽♀️
I drink A LOT of tea and hold my face over my mug to breathe in the steam! Lemon Ginger is my go to and Green Tea. Lots of OJ/vitamin C and I don't know if it actually works or if I imagine it, but dishes with lots of garlic!
Okay you can make the following as a hot toddy or non-alcoholic, but usually clears ANYTHING up in 2-3 days if you make and drink it 2-3 times a day when sick:
Keila's Ginger Apple Cider Cure-All
Ingredients Fresh Ginger Root (or you can substitute The Ginger People's minced ginger, as it has minimal additives and still has all of the health benefits of fresh) Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) Raw (Local) Honey boiled/hot water
Chop/mince the ginger root as large or small as you'd like (I recommend at least sliced rounds if not julienned/minced to release as much gingerol (the active anti-inflammatory compound found in ginger!) as possible). Add 1-2 capfuls of ACV (2 for large mugs, 1 for regular) and honey to taste. Mix all three in a mug. Add hot water and cover to steep for 3-5 minutes. Enoy!
