Piano removal

Hi - I need to find a good home for an older upright player piano (you play and can watch the action behind a glass window). I'd rather keep it out of the landfill. It's in good shape. Any ideas on a business who can find it a home and haul away? (BTW - I've already posted on CL and Nextdoor but no individual takers).

You might also want to consider going through charities such as the Salvation Army, PianosForEducation.org, Music4Life, or the Beethoven Foundation. Some will pick up the piano from your home which saves several hundred dollars.

Assuming good condition, other options could include:
– Recreation centers
– Service clubs
– Social groups
– After-school programs
– Senior centers
– Churches
– Schools
– Consignment to a music store, antique gallery, or auction house

If none of that works out, piano recycling is a thing. Unfortunately.

Thanks Mark! I've already tried PianosForEducation and Beethoven Foundation. Neither were interested. I like your idea of asking senior centers and rec centers and checking out consignment options.

Welcome to the world of trying to re-home your piano. I do hope you find someone that would love it. Unf, it has been a tragic reality that folks have had to recycle theirs. I have seen it all too often. Let us know what works out for you!

Thanks for the offer Amy Woidtke . We are paying someone to haul it away and find it a home.
