We stayed at the Drury Plaza Hotel San Antonio Riverwalk and really enjoyed it. It is in a converted Alamo National Bank building so there is so much history! Beautiful stained glass windows, travertine flooring and the check in desks are the old teller windows. You can even see the old bank vault. Great location on the riverwalk. It was close to a good selection of restaurants and sightseeing options. The San Fernando Cathedral is close to the hotel and they do the most amazing light show on the church that shows the history of Texas projected onto the historic church. Truly not to be missed. We were so fortunate that we were able to see the show from our hotel balcony.
El Tropicano Riverwalk Hotel built around 1962 is authentic, has beautiful Mexican art and exquisite mosaic tile. We really enjoyed our week's stay there.
