What are your favorite water activities in the Indianapolis area?

With the sun finally wanting to come out and the weather heating up I'd love to hear about the places you love to cool off at?

I've been to The Waterpark at Monon Community Center in Carmel and Splash Island in Plainfield but would love to hear if there are some more out there that are maybe not so crowded! The Waterpark at Monon I always have to get a cabana to feel comfortable leaving my items at while I'm playing with the kids and Splash Island unfortunately don't have any.

What are some more areas that I could head to? Has anyone ever done the tubing on White River?

I love to travel to mexico to the beaches and going on road trips with my sisters. I'm also a big fan of going to the Indianapolis zoo to see the animals. I sometimes find my self at the children's museum exploring and getting weird glares from adults because I'm a grown adult.

We go to the Monon Center Waterpark as well. But you are right, it gets very busy. My kids like the splash pads at Dillon Park in Noblesville and the at the Monon Center playground. My husband has gone tubing on the White River several times but we've never taken the kids. My kids also love to go creek stomping in the summer heat! Our favorite spots are Cool Creek Park and Holliday Park.

Try the JCC, (#Arthur M. Glick JCC). Great staff, very comfortable and welcoming. The outdoor water park/pool was updated a couple of years ago. Also, Kayaking, or paddle boating at Eagle Creek, and the Broadmoar Golf and Pool that's not too crowded and good seasonal membership rates. If you golf, it's an added bonus. I would steer clear of taking young ones down the White River as the undercurrents are pretty impressive. Zionsville has rentals for kayaks near main street and Bubb's Burgers but Canoeing at Sugar Creek near Turkey Run is always a favorite as you can drift along without much effort in most places and pass under two covered bridges. Or stop at Shades and just wade in the creek, beach and walk across the suspension bridge and shaded rock formations, which keep you cool in the summer, all closer than you think.

I’ve went out on White River last summer and it was such a good time. Maybe not the best for younger kids but suitable for kids over ten!

White Rock Park is fun and has cliff jumping as well as areas designated for people who just want to swim! About $10 for entry. unfortunately it's not in the Indy area, but it is located 7080 S 750 E, St Paul, IN 47272
