Homegoing

I choose this book because I heard a lot about the author, and I'm so glad I did! I just couldn't put it down! A novel that will transport you to another time, it made me reflect about my own ancestors and their struggles so I could be who I am today. Beautiful and heartfelt, a must read!

Two half-sisters, Effia and Esi, are born into different villages in eighteenth-century Ghana. Effia is married off to an Englishman and lives in comfort in the palatial rooms of Cape Coast Castle.
