Calming Dog Treats

I need input/suggestions on calming dog treats THAT ACTUALLY WORK!! I have a dog that's at about 100lbs and is full of energy. When you let him out of his kennel he literally hauls out of it, running into everything (literally has taken out drywall) just to get upstairs. We have to let our other pup out first and make sure she is upstairs/outside first so has a fighting chance. He is just a massive ball of energy no matter how you exercise him. I just need something that is FAST ACTING and that WORKS!

I would talk to your vet about trying out CBD type treats. It's important to get the dosage right, but it can be incredibly effective and mellow out even the most hyper/anxious mutts!

We have tried some CBD treats but I am willing to try others. Our pup is literally a bull in a China shop lol and he's still a pup which makes it even more fun.

Tracy Myers - do you have any suggestions?

Thanks, Erin.
As to calming treats, I don’t have any recommendations off hand. Is your dog treat motivated? There are several interactive toys and treat dispensers that may help. Your dog would need to work to get to the treat. Some of them require them to use their thought process ie, puzzles. That can help to stimulate their brain and redirect their energy. Also, I highly suggest the use of a weighted pack on walks. Fill it with a few water bottles. Start out with light weight and go from there. A 20 minute walk is probably not enough to tire out an big, energetic pup but adding weight can help do the trick.
I hope these suggestions help. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions and best of luck!

Thank you! Yes he is very food motivated. He's just "special" if you know what I mean haha. I love the weighted pack idea. We have one but haven't used it. Guess it's time to pull it out of the garage!! !
