I have a torn muscle from running and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with dry needling (type of acupuncture) for sports injuries? Who did you use and did it work?
I love working with my acupuncturist, Kalin Garcia at The Health Connection, whenever I have an injury. It seems to speed up my healing time and definitely helps with pain management. We have mostly not done dry needling, but the little I have had has given me good muscle release.
I have had success with acupuncture with Lisa Porad on Mercer Island, but have not tried dry needling. What I did try last week for my tweaked hamstring was red light and cryotherapy at Restore in Issaquah. It seemed to really work!! Good luck healing!
Before dry needling, you should consider Astym or cupping. They can achieve the same thing without being as invasive. Almost all Physical Therapy places can do them or I’d suggest Ryne Richardson in Kirkland.
