Furniture donation pick up?

I have a large upholstered chair as well as a loveseat that I would like to donate. Are there any organizations out there doing pick ups? The one's I've checked have either suspended pickups or aren't taking any fabric-covered furniture.

Hi Kim, you should try Humble Design, they have some great recommendations on Fresh Chalk. I think they pick up items from your home for a small fee. Hope that helps.

I just researched pick up options for charities. All of them as far as I have seen, are still not offering pick ups. Most of them are receiving drop offs although some centers don’t have all of their centers open. So it’s important to look up ahead of time. Humble design is a fantastic place to donate your gently loved items. Their warehouse is in Kent.

You might check with Bella’s voice. They may be doing pick ups now. I saw a recent post about it.

Thanks for the pointers Meredith Fife and Amy Woidtke -- I will check them out!

That's a good thought Andrea. I had tried giving the chair away on Buy Nothing but Freecycle/Trash Nothing will have a wider audience.

The Blue Truck (I think Norwest Harvest) will pick donations up at our home - at least they did before Covid

Northwest Harvest is not currently doing pick ups.

It is surprisingly difficult to give away upholstered furniture. I now understand the abandoned sofas on the sidewalk a little better ;-)

Kim , you can try to post them on Craigslist to sale or your neighborhood next door or Facebook marketplace. . Because, for some reason that I can’t understand if they are free then nobody wants them. But, if they are for sale. Somebody will buy them and then you can donate the money to your favorite charity and then you can have your cake and eat it too ……….
