Landscapers that use electric leaf blowers?

Does anyone know of a landscaping company that uses electric leaf blowers instead of the typical gas ones? Or maybe they just use rakes? Tired of needing to leave my condo due to the exhaust fumes and the noise. Thanks!

Let me know if you find someone. I think most landscapers avoid electric because they are out all day and the batteries don't last. Rakes require a lot of manpower... I've mainly seen them used at fancy hotels where they hire large amounts of staff to keep things quiet.

Fun fact: Ashley Brilliant led a successful campaign to ban gas-powered leaf blowers in his town: "About 10 years ago (circa 1997) I led a 3-month initiative campaign which resulted in our local ban on gas-powered leafblowers. That will tell you how high on my personal list of What Matters Most is the simple value of PEACE and QUIET."

I love this idea and wish King County would ban them.

Let's ban them! I had no idea that an hour of leafblower = 1,000 miles of driving. Ugh

+1 to banning!

I did a little research and the best I could find was one model of electric leaf blower that claims "Over 90 minutes of run time: 15 minutes on Turbo; 200 minutes on low". Probably not good enough for the landscapers out all day to immediately switch over, unfortunately. However, they could totally rake a lot more than they do.

At my condo, there's lots of outdoor outlets, and plug-in blowers are very cheap and probably super light. I wonder if I bought it, would they use it?

I'm feeling motivated. I mailed city council!

Your landscaper might go for it, who knows? Never hurts to ask.

I like your idea of getting your landscaper to use your blower. We got a Ryobi One+ leaf blower from Home Depot and have been happy with it. The charge doesn't last long enough for a landscaper to use all day, but we get about 30 minutes which is plenty for our medium sized yard.

BTW, I mailed city council.
