Large furniture donations

We are looking for an organization to donate a large L-shaped sofa in good condition, that is able to pick up on the East Side. Appreciate any recommendations.

Hi, Monica! Most of the places that pick up donations (like Salvation Army and Humble Design) have stopped pickups due to COVID, but it looks like Habitat for Humanity still does them. You can schedule a residential pickup in your zip code at this link: habitatskc.org/store/donate...

Hi Liz, thanks for the information. I did check out Habitat for Humanity but it is only curbside pick-up due to COVID, which makes sense. It's just a little more challenging for furniture and rain. Thanks!

Ah, I see. Well, if you end up needing someone to come haul it away, I highly recommend Tao at Atlas Junk Removal. He will make sure it finds a good home!

We use College Hunk Junk removal twice now. It’s expensive but it’s also gone from our house !!!

Tao is awesome - hes my go to guy for clients however he can only find a new home if the charities are taking them. Grab some pics and measurements and put it on Facebook marketplace? Maybe Tao or one of my move crew would do pick up and delivery. If you bag it up for a week or longer before delivery, then it has awhile for germs to die and no new germs can get on it? Sofa bags sell at UHaul.
