Shampoo/conditioner

Products for thick, semi-wavy, frizzy hair? I tried a product from Shea Moisture recently and it makes my hair oily. Thanks!

Sounds like we have similar hair. I really like the Innersense brand. I loosely follow the curly girl method and stumbled on their products. High quality which means they're not cheap but I end up going through a small shampoo and large conditioner ever couple to few months so it ends up being really reasonable. Because I have color-treated hair I use the Color Awakening Hairbath (shampoo). I'm at the point where I can wash my hair about once a week because it doesn't get nearly as oily as quickly as it would with other products.

I love Olaplex shampoo + conditioner - really great for locking in moisture!

I have wavy to curly hair with all the frizz and thickness to go along with it. The best shampoo and conditioner that doesn't break the bank I have found is OGX Coconut Miracle Oil. They have a strand for curly hair and a couple more but I love this one. I first started using their lotion and am obsessed with it so thought I would give this a try. Finding the right shampoo and conditioner is the first step to minimize the frizz!

For styling, it was much harder for me to find products. I tried everything since age 15 to get rid of the frizz and poufiness. When I was 17 I finally started looking for products in the African-American sections (Although not labeled that way, it is sadly still grouped that way). It opened up a whole other world though for me.

There are several cremes and oils that work. So it just depends on if you like an oil or a creme. The key is the amount that you use. I've used faithfully Fantasia Frizz Buster Serum 20 years now and it's finally in the past 5 or years starting to make it into the limelight. I use a generous nickel size after towel drying my hair in the evening and then a smidge more in the morning if needed.

The key for me is putting it on after I have towel-dried. There's a definite difference.

honestly, Function of Beauty has really great options for your hair type. They make formulas especially for people with straight, wavy and curly hair. You can also get boosters of anti-frizz control, or anti-oil. functionofbeauty.com has you take a personalized quiz about your hair type and what you want to do to it. It's really good and convenient.

Has anyone heard of Theorem Method hair products? It's a young company but the products are pretty amazing! I am a rep for the company and have a few samples of the Density Deep conditioning mask I can send you if you'd like to try. I think I have five on hand. You can check out our products but they really help with healing from root to tip. Healing helps with frizz and our shampoo/conditioner formulas are amazing too! I'd be happy to discuss with anyone about your particular hair issues!! I'm new to Fresh Chalk so I don't know the rules of posting sites, etc.

I always try to switch up and feel like I've tried everything under the sun and spent so much money but recently I tried Dove because I forgot to pack my shampoo and conditioner on a trip and I am in absolute love!!!

I don't know if Dove is sulfate free or not, but that is what I recommend is a Sulfate-free, Phthlate free, paraben free shampoo and conditioner
