What are some books I should add to my summer reading list?

I'm making my summer reading list. Is there a book out there that you finished that is a must-read? All genres welcome!

I’ve read Me Before You. Loved it! I have the sequel on my list. Have you read the sequel?

I’ll add the other two as well. I’ve heard good things about the The Woman in the Window.

I loved We Keep the Dead Close by Becky Cooper. It's true crime but it moves rather quickly. It's well done.

If you haven't read The Power by Naomi Alderman, that's a bit of a brain-melter while also being an easy read. I'm hot and cold on Neal Stephenson but I thought his latest, Reamde, was a lot of fun. NK Jemison's Broken Earth trilogy, the Dublin Murder Squad by Tana French, the Wolf Hall trilogy by Hilary Mantel--none of these are "light reads" but they're all super engrossing. I can also recommend the NPR book concierge (apps.npr.org/best-books/ind...)as a resource when you run out of the books listed here!

I second NK Jemison's Broken Earth series! Lurrrved it! I'm also a lover of speculative fiction, especially series of multiple books that can keep me engaged for a while, and my recent favorite series are the Murderbot series by Martha Wells (series of novellas followed by a full length novel). The Wormwood Trilogy by Tade Thompson (scifi), and the Ancillary Justice series by Ann Leckie. (Some of these led me to other works by Wells and Leckie which are also fun!) If you want some heavier speculative fiction, Octavia Butler is amazing.

I loved Gideon the Ninth. Akata Witch and Akata Warrior were both great fun to read. Both Vicious and Vengeful by V. S. Schwab were page turners, and I am excited to read her new book, The Invisible Life of Addie Larue. I am also really excited to read the Murder Bot stories. Aah! So many great books! I am loving seeing everyone’s book recs in this thread!
