Women's Bikes

Hi, community. I'm looking to buy a women's bike to casually ride around various parks or neighborhoods. I don't want a beach cruiser as I think they're pretty ugly and it doesn't have to be specifically a women's bike, but I am a woman. I'm also 5'4 if that matters, I really don't know a lot about buying a bike! HELP.

We're the same height and I got an urban commuter Del Sol bike. It's a good hybrid and I ended up with some customizations (changed the handlebar to an FSA Metropolis handlebar which is more ergonomic). I love it. The whole design is pretty unisex.

Check out a Trek Hybrid bike. They have a few different versions to choose from. I love my Trek Hybrid.

Hi Tori, I have a Cannondale Adventure hybrid. I like it because it's very light weight, there are shock absorbers (suspension) on the handles and seat. The weight makes loading onto car racks easy, but it's beefy enough to put rack for panniers and tie-downs for long treks and groceries. It's not too pricey and the seat is very comfortable. I also like the fact that I can ride on paved trails, streets, grass and dirt trails, and know the suspension will hold up. I like it so much, I've not replaced it. I've had it for years and its still in great shape with thousands of miles of cycling.

Try Sixthreezero's Around The Block Women's 7-Speed Beach Cruiser Bicycle, that's what my girlfriend rides to and from university everyday.

I recently bought my bicycle at Dick's Sporting Goods. I'm very happy with my choice - Schwinn. I'm 5'2 tall and I bought the Women's Small size.

I highly recommend getting fit for a bike at REI. The folks in cycling will not only fit you from a measurement perspective, but also help you get the right bike for what you want to do now and what you might aspire to do. You know they are super busy, so book an appointment.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Linus bike! I use it recreationally, just as you would. I feel like I'm flying every time I get on it; it makes me so happy. I have the Pronto 8s.

I love my Specialized Roll Sport Strep Thru Comfort Bike. My back and wrists can't handle leaning over on a mountain bike. This sits me upright and the step through feature is great. It's like a beach cruiser with a sporty feel and comfortable ride.

I really loved my Giant hybrid bike for trail and city riding. Lasted me forever and wasn’t too expensive. I know people who swear by Specialized though
