Workout clothes detergent

I'm having trouble getting the stinky smell from sports clothes. I feel like my regular detergent only masks it. A friend suggested washing them with very hot water but I don't want to ruin the synthetic fabrics. What do you use to wash yours?

I don’t use regular detergent. I use laundry sheets that so far had worked well with our sports clothing. I usually use Sheets laundry Club and Earth breeze. It’s also a great eco friendly plastic free option. If you are interested let me know I might have a discount code, I recall I got something some weeks ago.

I second the Arm & Hammer suggestion as well. I also suggest if your washing machine has a sanitize option, do that with the detergent

Tide with Febreeze works great

I love H2O at Home products. They're gentle on clothes and skin, it's not a detergent, it's a soap so it doesn't mask it cleans and the netepur bar gets stains out that no other stain remover has been able to touch.

Someone had suggested Force of Nature was the only thing that got the stink out of her kids sports clothes. I bought the starter system, but haven’t used it yet to review it. forceofnatureclean.com/natu...

This will not only get it out, but it will smell SO good! It's a distinctive smell, though, so make sure you like the smell of these two essential oils. They have it at Safeway online in 32 oz., or you can get a better deal in 64 oz. at Amazon.

Also, if you wash in warm water, your synethic fabrics should be just fine and it will help kill some of bacteria, too. Or just a tiny dash of tea tree will help kill as well (and it kills fungus).

I was battling this all last year and I FINALLY find something. Lysol disinfectant for clothes. There's no bleach in it but it works magic. I actually haven't had any problems since I started using it.

Skip those free & clear detergents - go for proven products like Tide and double rinse

I have a cleaning business and when I need to get rid of odor , I use white vinegar and baking soda . Now , to give it the freshness you are looking for use a sprinkle of lemon juice. Then hold off on the fabric softener because it allows the odors to get trapped during the drying process . Old school technology . It works for me but I do have a couple screws that I think were missing when I was born .Lol happy laundering !

I use Defunkify for all my running clothes and it works great! You can still use cold water and there's no fragrance or other smell that masks odors.

I use this Lysol Laundry Sanitizer to do the extra work along with my detergent so that it truly gets rid of dirt, musk, and other heavily soiled clothing/linens as opposed to masking odors.

I agree on the Tide Febreeze. I throw in the Downy lavender and feel like they smell very fresh!

I would look at doing one of those strips. Adding tons of product to a tub and letting the clothes sit, removes tons of hidden dirt, grime, and bacteria that could be causing any stink. No pun intended!

I became extremely allergic to laundry detergents and softeners both on my skin and upper respiratory allergies. I use a Technology that attaches to the washer that has been used by major hotels and hospitals. (Ever wonder how they get bedsheets and towels so white and soft?). It doesn't use hot water, detergents, fabric treatments or softeners. The cloths are cleaner and smell fresh because it destroys bacteria. One of the best investment I've ever made.
