Hi! Anyone have dog rescue places that they've used to adopt their furry friend that are reputable? We looked into Ginger's Pet Rescue but we've found some sites that mention they just buy the dogs from breeders and sell it.
Yes! We LOVE Saving Great Animals and adopted both of our sweet pups from them - www.savinggreatanimals.org. Homeward Pet Adoption Center is another great one on the Eastside.
Got our sweet little Cleo from Seattle Humane in Bellevue. Large, transparent organization that accepts a ton of transfers from high kill shelters out of state. I cant say enough about the organization.
+1 for Dog Gone Seattle! They partner with overwhelmed, bursting-at-the-seams, high-kill shelters in other states to transport “adoptable” dogs to Washington. Here they have a better chance of finding homes. (apparently we have more dogs than kids in King County!)
We did that at Seattle Humane too. Were only supposed to have our pooch for a weekend and it's been over 3 years now and she is never going back... except when we stop at the mud bay store inside for treats on the way back from a hike at the pass 😁
We ended up adopting this lil nugget, Cece, from PAWS back in July. We narrowed our search to dogs from Seattle Humane, Saving Great Animals, and PAWS. Thanks everyone!
