I think Weimans was what my ex used to use, but when I asked him what he recommended for cleaning my smooth top range ( he always cleaned stove top hence my cluelessness) he said bar keepers friend.
My company uses all non-toxic, eco-friendly products, and I swear by Bon Ami -- it won't scratch your glass / ceramic stovetop and it has beautiful results. Here are two different glass stovetops that had pre-existing scratches and damage that won't come out, but you can see how the Bon Ami and scrubby sponge got the burned on stuff off and did a great job getting it clean and shiny. I'm also just adding a pic of an electric coil stovetop so you can see, too, how it does a great job and doesn't scratch. You can also just use baking soda in a pinch, but be sure not to mix it with vinegar -- that combination just makes salty water and a carbon dioxide gas. Just stick to the baking soda and water :)
After some googling of the difference between Bar Keepers Friend and Bon Ami, I think I’m getting Bon Ami for smooth cooktop. Less toxic and less abrasive. Thanks Lindsey for your question, as I would have continued using BKF
I have always used and been happy with the Weiman cooktop cleaner. I am excited to try out some of these others that are suffested, especially the Bon Ami! Thanks for asking this question I didn't even know I wanted answers to!
Thank you all! I've always used Weiman too and works good but was needing something more for the overboiled pasta, soups, you name it. I already had some bar keepers and used that and it looks like I have a whole new stove! Who knew? I didn't! :)
