What budgeting system does everyone use here?

I'm currently using YNAB and it's been awesome, but I'm curious how other folks keep track of spending here!

Following! I am old school with a Google Doc, but I'd love to graduate from that antiquated way to a more simplistic tool.

My husband and I use Mint I really like and how it pulls data directly from our account to show us exactly how we are spending.

We use EveryDollar and like it! Same idea as YNAB I believe - zero-based budgeting. Took awhile to get used to, though!

Mint is fantastic to see what we spend our money on the most and then talk strategy on how we can improve. Also you can compare month to month analysis and it gives a true picture of habitual overspending habits 🙃

This is a great topic! My husband and I have separate checking accounts though so I may have to only link to the joint one for "family" spending. I don't want to freak out when he buys a new golf club or him freak when I come home with ANOTHER pair of shoes.... Is there an program for your secret spending? haha!

I've used quicken for years but for the last year I've also used Mint which is great. If Mint had bill paying I'd toss quicken over the cliff.

I wrote my own program, Budgette, which I use for my small business and personal budgeting. If you're interested, you can learn about it at www.parkergraham.com.

I've always wondered how safe it is to give an app (like Mint) access to your bank accounts - thoughts?

I've worried about giving access to Mint as well... does anyone have any input?

Mint is from Intuit (TurboTax) so I don't think they'd risk their reputation without having good security and privacy.

There are some great excel sheets that I found on Google that you can download and keep in your Google drive. It helps me keep everything on track. I just googled “personal finance worksheets”
