what used SUV/minivan should I buy?

Since we added a new family member this year (a gigantic dog) we need a bigger vehicle for summer road trips. I am not a car person and I don't even know where to start. Here are my priorities:
- more cargo space than our current Mazda 5
- has a third row of seats that folds down
- can hold its own on the terrible dirt roads we sometimes drive on (we've nearly killed our low clearance, FWD Mazda a couple times)
- good gas economy, ideally a hybrid
- high reliability and good craftsmanship
- I LOVE a heated seat.

On the other hand, I really don't care about how snappy the acceleration feels, how good the "infotainment" system is, whether I can open doors with a remote-control, how fancy the interior is, etc. I can spend whatever I need to, to get the thing I want--but the less the better! I know used cars are hard to come by right now, but if I could figure out exactly what I want, I can just wait for it to come up on Carvana. Do y'all have any recommendations?

We've been happy with our honda oddessy. I cant speak to dirt roads or hybrid status. Ours is pre redesign so I think the already easy to use third row is even better and supposedly better self driving features/cameras etc. Its been very reliable, we enjoy our heated seats.

The remote door opening has been super helpful with little kids and I underestimated that before I had it.

We really like our Nissan Pathfinder. We got it used we also needed the 3rd row for our kids. I did not want a van. I love the way it handles it doesn't at all feel like I am driving as large of a vehicle as it is. Within the price range, it has such a smoother drive than the others we test drove. We can fit 4 adults and 3 kids comfortably in the car with a car seat. Also you can fold down all the back rows for cargo hauling and we can fit so much in it. We have heated seats, we don't really off road but it handles driving in the country when we went and stayed on a ranch.

We are really happy with our Subaru Ascent. We take it on roads it shouldn't go on but that's because we like to live on the edge. The only thing I would recommend when purchasing a care with third row seats is that make sure that the middle seats (second row) are captain seats. Folding down that middle row for a kid to climb in out of is really annoying.

I would second the Subaru brand. We have a Forester, so no third row seat, but I have been happy with the car overall. It has x-mode, traction enhancer, which was super helpful during our winter/snow/ice event. Haven’t gone off roading, but have done some unpaved ranch roads and it was fine.

4Runner! I absolutely love my 4Runner. They are reliable! Worth the money for sure.

I’ve been very happy with my Toyota Highlander! The third row folds down if needed. I used to have a 4Runner as well which was so spacious! Both great in the snow, too.
