Anyone have experience replacing a 2014+ BMW battery?

Anyone have experience replacing a 2014+ BMW battery? The local dealership is quoting way more than I expect. It's the first time I've had to replace the battery in this car and apparently it's a unique process :/. I would love tips or even 3rd party shops that can replace it for cheaper but still maintain the sync & programming required.

I found this online: youcanic.com/wiki/replace-b.... Apparently you have to register the battery with BMW. Seems like a pain. I had an Audi a few years back with the battery in the trunk and I needed to get special tools to take it out. In the end it would likely have been cheaper and easier to have someone do it for me.

Yah, the "register with BMW" part is the non-standard pain that costs $200 more .

You could always sell the BMW and get a Range Rover so you can spend even more on maintenance...

We will sell it soon, but for a Tesla. Little maintenance!

I use two shops for my BMW stuff: Car Tender on cap hill. and and Cmarr in Chinatown. Car Tender is a solid dealer alternative boutique - still should be cheaper than the dealer. Cmarr is like your cousins shop. Call them ahead to make sure they can do it. And get a quote. Hopefully, they answer your phone or return your email. [email protected]

I had great luck with a guy named Frank Schmitt in Bellevue. Very competent and reasonable. Ping me and will give you all his coordinates.

Matt Gamboa It's been a while since I've last been, but I recommend Signature Independent in Kirkland. The guys know their stuff, prices were reasonable, and they were trustworthy.

I dont have a BMW, but AAA came out and changed the battery in my Chrysler which required jacking it up and going through the wheel well. They did it right on the street in front of my car for $140, I think

Stone's Garage is great. They work on my Porsches and do beautiful work! Every time I am in there, they have BMWs and Audis lined up. They're fair, honest, reliable, personal, and are just nice people.
