Meditation Question

I have heard from some this group recently that they meditate to start their day with a calm mind. My question to those who meditate, do you use an app to help you? Read a book for techniques and then come up with your our routine?

I have a subscription to Headspace, but I never use it. My husband downloaded it for our family and I never remember I have it. For me, having a phone in my hand is too distracting so when I want to meditate I look for a place that is electronic free.

I use guided meditation sessions that are free. One guy I really like is on YouTube.

I should use an app but I mostly focus on breath work so I tend to just do it silently or for sleep I have an audio sleep mindfulness book that guides you through some mindfulness to clear the mind. I also follow my friend Melissa she does breath and meditation on her Instagram and I love it!! instagram.com/rootedwithmel...

I’ve used insight timer for years! At first I did all guided meditations, then the timer function and now I meditate to music on the app. I’ve found my favorite songs and love it. I get excited about seeing my streak grow- they track how many total days, hours, etc total and how many days in a row.
