great atmosphere for a sunday afternoon
My favorite place to take guest from out of town. I love it and I am born and raised here.
The Chicken Hawaiian Fajitas from Hula Hut are to die for!
Good food with a better view. Literally perched on the edge of Lake Austin near the Tom Miller dam and Red Bud Isle (refer to my Red Bud Isle review), you should check this place out.
It is extraordinarily busy. Parking is ALWAYS a challenge, this is a place worth considering valet for your vehicle. Also, be warned that without a reservation, there will be a long wait for a table.
But thats because the views are great, the food is good, and service is great.
If you have a boat you can order online, park at their pier, and pick up your food. There is an inside and outside bar- again, they will be busy.
Its as much about the view as it is about the food. If you like the water you will want to sit outside. It's scorching during the summer if sitting in the uncovered outdoor area, so if you're sensitive to the heat you will want to take that into consideration.
If you never been, check it out. If you are boating in Lake Austin, its a convenient place to grab some food.
The Hula Hut is one of our favorites for celebrating special occasions. The food is scrumptious and I love sitting out on the floating bar on the water!
If you have friends or family coming to town, this is THE SPOT to take them! And yes, it is worth the wait to sit outside as the deck overhangs the lake, next to the dam. Thin chips, fruity salsa, tiki aesthetic, and Polynesian-inspired Tex Mex, what's not to like??? The shrimp & spinach tubular taco is something special, and if you've got a Covid-safe sweetheart, you may even share a "fishbowl" of booze. The Lake Austin lemonade always satisfies on a hot day. At the bar or table, I've never once been disappointed in the waitstaff. Throw on that breezy dress, sandals, and pop a flower in your hair and get there!
They have the best salsa and margaritas! Beautiful views and yummy food. I really love their hula hut copped salad with the blackened shrimp. My husband like the flautas and they have a nice kids menu that makes it family friendly.
