I did a side-by-side comparison one day of the Hartz cat brush with the furminator. The Hartz brush only removed a small amount of hair. The Furminator removed almost enough hair for a second cat. All the loose hair stuck in the undercoat-gone. So much less vacuuming. The cats really enjoy it to. I have four and when I bust it out, they line up.
This pet hair brush has been a total game changer for my cat and has worked well for my long-haired puppy as well. It gets under that top layer of fur and into the undercoat, thinning out that thick uncomfortable layer closest to the skin, and leaving a soft and silky coat that's much more manageable.
