Best air mattress?

My parents have been vaccinated and are finally able to travel to see us, yay! They'll stay for a while and I need to purchase a comfortable twin-sized air mattress before their visit. (Don't worry, I'm not making THEM sleep on the air mattress.) Any favorites out there?

We _love_ our AeroBed mattresses. We've gotten a couple of them at Costco on sale before. They're so easy to blow up and take down. We have a couple of these ones specifically with the headboard and you might be surprised at what a difference it makes in comfort. Feels more like a real bed and your pillows aren't falling off the back all night :)

I second the AeroBed. We have a couple as well and they are super easy to inflate and very comfortable. We also have a REI Kingdom Insulated Sleep System 40 .... WAY COMFORTABLE.

Aerobed is good brand - they have pillowtops, air beds with a base so they are easier to get in and out of, connected air pumps, etc. Lower end is around $99 and nicer ones are in the $300+ range. We have a pillowtop queen with a base and air pump. We have used it camping, for guests in the house, to rally the pups, etc. It's sturdy and stands up to all kinds of regular living situations. You will get a lot of use over the years if you choose a good brand!

The key to a great air mattress is putting a memory foam topper and mattress pad on top so that the texture and sounds are right. If you put sheets on it without a memory foam topper and quilted mattress pad, it’s always going to be noisy and cold, and precarious. It is known. Ha ha ha. Have a fun visit with the parents. Xx

I will add my vote for Aerobed and our tips.

Put an emergency blanket or something air blocking on the ground before the mattress. This helps with the cold air thing.

Add a layer on top (love the foam topper tip!) to help keep the cold air away.

Put a heating pad at the bottom before bed to heat it up!

+1 on Aerobed. I had frequent guests and bought two from Costco when I lived in Chicago.
