Child with sensitive skin

My daughter has sensitive, dry skin and this winter it has been worse then normal. Can anyone recommend a good body wash and lotion for dry, sensitive skin? Thanks!

Molly Pearcy, as a now woman in her thirties who suffered from incredibly painful Eczema as young child, I have a list of recommended products you could try out.
> I use Cerave for body wash and as a face wash it's incredibly mild and effective. Their entire line has been a lifesaver for many sensitive skin suffers.
> I use Hempz (they have different scents, but you can start with the unscented and try patch testing).
> I intermittently change between Aveeno Oatmeal Lotion (very calming) and Tree Hut Shea Body Butter (my favorite scent is Coconut Lime). Hope that helps!

Agree cerave and cetaphil both great for sensitive skin for both me and my son.

How could I forget Cetaphil? That was what my parents used before Cerave came into the picture. Thanks for chiming in Chris Manderino :)

A second vote for CeraVe lotion, also Aquaphor is a great barrier lotion to keep moisture in. If her skin is really really dry, you can put the ointment version of Aquaphor on her at night.

Depending on how old your daughter is, this is what I use on my kids.
For my toddler I use Mustela, and it really keeps his sensitive skin moisturized. And for my daughter who is 10 she uses Aveeno regularly, but lately with our weather it wasn't enough. So she uses .Weleda Skin Food Original Ultra-Rich Body Cream, 2.5 Fl Oz.

My son's hands are so dry and cracked that they bleed. Lotions don't do much. I recently found All Good Goop healing balm. It's amazing and heals his skin very quickly.

+1 for Cerave. Also for pure lanolin which is often sold as nipple cream for breastfeeding moms, but is also an instant fix for dry skin.

I second the CeraVe for lotion, we also use a lot of Aquaphor/Eucerin. As far as body wash, we still use the baby johnson and johnson since both my kiddos have sensitive skin!

I recently started tretinoin, which makes my face really dry and sensitive as well. I love Neutrogena HydroBoost Extra-Dry moisturizer--it absorbs really fast and offers a lot of relief

I recommend CeraVe as well - it's moisturizing and non-irritating to sensitive skin.

I have three two amazing brands to recommend that are wonderful -- and they are all natural, chemical-free, non-toxic and great for young (or old!) sensitive skin.

1) Luminance Organic Skin Lotion

2) Better Shea Butter Unscented Body Butter

3) Dr. Bronner's 4in1 Baby Organic Sugar Soap Unscented.

The Luminance is lighter, the Better Shea Butter is nice and rich without being oily.

The soap is a gorgeous caramel color and does have a light scent from the natural ingredients. It's loaded with lots of natural oils, Shikakai sugar, and organic grape juice as well.

Circling back because I forgot to recommend gold bond for hands and body! It's the only thing that really soothes my skin when it's very dry

For lotion try using expelled pressed raw shea butter. It won't clog pores so can be used on the face
