Water Ideas

I'll be honest, I am HORRIBLE at drinking water. So bad that I had to be hospitalized at one point for being dehydrated. What do all of you do to make sure you drink enough water? Fun water bottles? Flavored water?

I love my Hydroflask! Get a 32oz bottle and keep it with you, it’ll keep it cold all day and has a handle for easy transportation.

What worked for me was using a water cup my husband got after a medical procedure. It has the ounces on the side and I snagged it and am definitely drinking more water. I guess, long story short, get a bottle that has ounces so you can see how much water you are drinking.

On days that plain water sounds too boring, I love using a Liquid IV pack to spice it up. I think it's also double hydration or something. Totally worth it!

I am terrible too, seriously so bad at staying hydrated. My body isn't sending me very strong signals about water, but the lack of water manifests itself over time in a variety of small and unpleasant ways. I keep a Hydro Flask at my desk. The nice thing about the Hydro Flask is that the steel interior doesn't need to be washed very often, so it's easy to keep it handy. Maybe cleaning is a separate discussion :)

i use the mio brand of flavoring! they have a ton of different options and i like pretty much all of them. it’s definitely helped me stay consistent with drinking enough water

Infused water, especially in the summer when fruit is so so good, helps a lot. Cantaloupe and cucumber are two of my all time favorites. Something like this if you don't want to make a big pitcher.

Pedialyte powder packs in a water bottle goes a long way for hydration! Safeway also makes a generic brand.

I like to add MiO water enhancer (or store brand) to my water. It's the only way my boys and I can drink water. Our favorites are watermelon strawberry, orange vanilla, and orange tangerine.

Another vote for MiO in our household. It requires the absolute minimum effort of any option and lets us use tap water instead of taking out a loan to pay for all the VOSS I was going through.

No tap water for me here in LA, tastes filmy/heavy and has been shown to have toxins. Coming from Chicago, I didn't care for their water either altho most people don't mind it and it's better than LAs...Unfortunately I have very sensitive smell and taste, so most waters are gross to me. But purified water, Cucumber water made w purified water, Hint water, and milk....yes, studies like at Oxford show full fat and skin milk is quicker and better to hydrate bec of the sugars. So, as someone who doesn't love water, I have always loved milk. I do enjoy Hint water and Hinkley or Sparklettes as they're known out west, as well. Here's the link to the in depth study on hydration for your own knowledge. Stay thirsty my friends. academic.oup.com/ajcn/artic...

I love the taste of the water using my Pur filter. I have several bottles and tumblers that I like to use - all are either glass or stainless steel for an added dose of healthy, safe choices.

I used Cirkel for a bit and I really enjoyed it. You use a water bottle and the lid has a flavor cartridge in it. You can adjust how mild or strong the flavor is. I loved it and definitely increased my water intake, I just quit when my husband lost his job.

I hate drinking water, but this water bottle has helped me increase my intake quite a bit! Other than this, I typically don’t have any alternative drinks around during meals so it forces me to drink water! freshchalk.com/elissa_tompk...

I recommend fun water bottles.

Definitely water bottles with ounces on them. I prefer Contigo, 24oz, stainless. Only because I prefer the spout, leak-proof, and I can drop them often without much more than a small dent. Lol Adding ice to water lasts and lasts, so I can keep adding water throughout the day and keep it super cold. I'd recommend just going with the plain stainless "color" with a fun colored lid, though. The paint on stainless will flake off even with hand-washing. When you are feeling dehydrated, or just know you haven't hydrated enough, you obviously need a boost of electrolytes. That Liquid IV isn't bad, but I don't care for the sweetener they use. So, I stick with good old coconut water! Great natural electrolytes. :-) You can buy cases of it from Costco in a variety of ounces so that you know how many ounces you are drinking.

Keep a water bottle, flavored water, infused water, and eat your water! (I know that sounds weird) Like snacking on fruit (watermelons 90-95% water), soup, smoothies….

I love Simple Modern Water Bottles, you can get them in all sizes but my favorite is 40oz with a straw lid. It keeps cold for days even if it's 100 degrees and in the sun and with the straw I'll have finished a bottle before I realize it. It's definitely less daunting to say I have to finish this 2 or 3 times than I have to drink 8 glasses.

Add coconut water…… super hydrating

Literally just carrying water around with you will make you drink it. I have the same exact problem but when I make myself lug around a large bottle, I end up casually finishing it haha.

Add a Nuun tablet to your water bottle for electrolytes without sugar. It’s a must for me when I sweat a lot , otherwise I get leg cramps.

I used to have this problem, I used a bottle where I can't see how much water is in it so I won't be worrying about how much I still need to drink. I also add flavoring like crystal light

For me I found drinking out of a tumbler helped me drink more water. For some reason I don’t like looking at my water so I tend to avoid clear water bottles. I also enjoy using a straw but I don’t like when water bottles come with a straw/spout because I find it hard to clean Bc I wear a lot of lip balms/gloss. So I like using a tumbler where I can just use any reusable straw I have.

I add about 1/3 of a Hint bottle to regular water to give it a bit of a flavored taste. Helps a ton!

I love flavored water. And I put lemon in my water as well.
